Silence

Today was more of the same. We woke up to no power. Since yesterday was so cloudy, the solar panels didn’t generate enough power to last all night. It was eerie waking up to such quiet. We could hear roosters from across the bay.

I brushed the tamarin. He doesn’t have another of his kind here so he likes being ‘groomed’ by the humans. He crawled up into my lap once he realized I was holding his brush. I think he could have sat in my lap forever if I kept brushing him, but I was afraid he was gonna pee on me and I have to wear these pants on the plane home.

Me & the tamarin

Nathan interacted with the howler monkey. He’s a little grabby and bitey for me, and he stinks. But he’s nice when he’s not biting.

Nathan & Chumbo

We watched fishermen in traditional dugout canoes off in the distance. We even tried our hand at taking a canoe out for a couple of laps around our island. We both stayed dry! Amazing Race here we come. We snorkeled and swam and read our books. You know, typical amusements.

Canoe in the rain

After dark, we waited for the kinkajou to come out of hiding and eat. I even got to pet him. Tomorrow, the boat ride back to Bocas and a plane ride to Panama City.
