We had a fairly uneventful journey. We left the house right on time Friday afternoon, and departed DIA without issue, even though the news had been forecasting afternoon thunderstorms.
The good folks at Lufthansa are always quite generous with the wine and this trip was no exception. We arrived in Frankfurt at 10 am local time, early, and enjoyed an overpriced airport meal of German white asparagus, potato and smoked salmon. Coffee was a given and we settled in to watch the royal wedding and burn 4 hours.
Our Dubrovnik flight boarded on time, and then we sat and sat and sat on the tarmac. When you only have 3 hours of sleep, the waiting while trying to stay awake bit and stuck sitting in your seat gets a little rough. We finally took off for an uneventful takeoff and landing. Once in Dubrovnik, we cleared immigration no problem and bought our tickets for the bus into old town for 40 kuna.
An up, up up the steps walk with our luggage to find our room and this is the view that greeted us. We spent the evening outside in the old city, enjoyed dinner under the stars, bought an ice cream and headed to our room.
