It’s just a pint, you sissy

Today was a travel day, and as such, we needed to check out of our room by 10 am. Our ferry to Korcula wasn’t until 4:30, but our nice hosts agreed to let us store our bags on their terrace til we needed to catch the bus to the port.

Breakfast was pastries from a different bakery (yesterday’s were a little dry…) and a coffee from the same little jazz cafe. Well, actually we sat for two coffees. Then I ran to the produce market to top off our breakfast with some fruit. I purposefully accidentally bought way too many cherries. Half a kilo, what the heck, I really just wanted a handful. Stupid Americans and our failure to adopt the metric system. We get into trouble with that literally every time we go abroad.

Now lugging around the uneaten cherries, we window shopped and went to the grocery store for some cheese and salami to make a picnic lunch with our leftover bread from the Bosnian place last night. We took our purchases out of the walled city and started walking toward the port area. We found a park for our lunch and did a little exploring. Turns out at the end of the park were a little set of stairs that would take us all the way to the water.

The afternoon was spent traipsing around the old town, wasting time until we needed to collect our bags and ride to the port.

For the most part, the bus and ferry ride were uneventful. We arrived in Korcula at 6:30, found a room and headed out for a nice anniversary dinner on the Adriatic.
