Oh, Muffin!

Our first full day on Bonaire. Since we managed to walk to the Bonaire version of Whole Foods the night before, we made ourselves breakfast on our terrace. We couldn’t figure out how to light our propane stove, so we opted for Greek yogurt, honey, bread with jam, juice, and coffee. Eggs and toast would be a feat for another day.

At 9 am, a van from the bike rental place came to get us to take us to their shop so we could pick up our Dutch push bikes. Then at 10 am we met up with Brenda, a snorkel guide, who among other things does night snorkeling tours.

After those few errands, we packed a lunch and headed to the nearest beach on our newly rented bicycles. The first order of business was to find a nice piece of real estate to set up our brand-new Neso shade tent. A most awesome REI find. From there on, we just sat in the shade, relaxed, and enjoyed the easy snorkeling right off the beach.

We spent all afternoon at Coco Beach taking turns snorkeling and reading under our shade tent. At 4:30 we picked up our tent and beach gear quickly dropped them off at our place and rode our bikes back out to the grocery store for additional provisions.

Once back home, we showered, had quick cocktail on our terrace, and left for dinner.
