Yah, Mama!

Last night, we walked to West Bay for dinner and had pizza at Bananarama. The pizza was good, and the waiter was delightful. Not sure how to spell his name, maybe just Kevin, but pronounced Key-ven. We walked back to our place, and I put the finishing touches on the blog, and we went to bed.

And slept great! Oh, how I love you, air conditioner of the tropics! We woke up at 6:30, ate breakfast, one of us showered, and Nathan made more coffee for us to take outside to one of the common areas overlooking the water. I won’t divulge who showered, but it wasn’t me.

When we were finally done with our leisurely start, we headed to the West End on foot to see about a bathing suit. It was a fool’s errand, which had us walk all over, talk to a million people, get cash from the ATM in the gas station, catch a taxi to Anthony’s Key, catch a taxi back to the gas station, and finally buy a non matching two piece of questionable origin. The Afro-Caribbean shopkeeper woman was a hoot, and I gladly shelled out $15 for a suit that will probably never be worn again after this trip.

Now, we travel a bit, and it always amazes me when the ATM spits out bank notes in denominations of 500, and then no one can make change. Like literally everyone makes as if you’re nuts for walking around with the equivalent of $20.80. And we have a fistful, thanks to the ATM. I see many trips to the gas station in our future.

Questionable swim attire in hand, we walked back to our place for lunch and relaxing. I promptly washed the suit bottoms, and hung them out to dry. We ate our lunch and headed down to the water for snorkeling and relaxation.

Now, cleaned up (I showered!), at dinner, and we need to figure out how to get change for the water taxi home.
